Description & what's in the box
A compact 4K dash cam with its own screen, built to give you clear footage of the road ahead every time you drive.
Choose what you need: the camera on its own, with a 1080p rear camera, or with the rear camera and a GPS module that records your speed and route.
If something happens, the G-sensor locks the clip so it can't be recorded over. Replay it in the free app over Wi-Fi, save it to your phone and send it to your insurer or the police.

Will it fit my car?
- Yes for cars, SUVs and most vans with a 12V socket.
- 12V only: a 24V supply will damage it. For lorries and some large vans, add a 24V to 12V converter.
- It sits behind your rear-view mirror. With a rear camera option, its 6 m cable runs to the back window.
- Use only the rear camera sold with it: the maker only guarantees its own rear camera works with this dash cam.

01 · Front camera
4K on the road ahead.
The Orbit records the road in 4K (3840 × 2160) at 30 fps, through a 6-element glass lens with a bright f/1.8 aperture. Its 170° view takes in the lanes on either side, so a car cutting in stays in shot.
- 4K at 30 fps on the front camera
- 170° wide angle covers junctions and side lanes
- Sound recorded with the video
02 · Rear camera (option)
Add the road behind you.
Choose Front + Rear and a 1080p rear camera records out of your back window at the same time as the front, with a 140° view and a 6 m cable.
To be straight with you: the rear camera is Full HD, not 4K. It clearly shows what happened behind you, but plates further back are harder to read.
- Front and rear record together, every journey
- 6 m cable to reach the back window

03 · Screen + app
Clips on your phone, ready to send.
The Orbit has a built-in 1.47" screen. Connect to the camera's Wi-Fi with the free app to watch live, download and share your clips.
- No cloud, no subscription: clips go straight to your phone
FAQ
Questions drivers ask before buying
Can't find your answer? Email support@dashproof.co.uk. A person replies within 24 working hours.
Does it have a rear camera?
Only if you choose the Front + Rear or Front + Rear + GPS option. You then get a 1080p rear camera on a 6 m cable, which records at the same time as the front. The Front only version films the road ahead.
Where does the rear camera go?
With the Front + Rear or Front + Rear + GPS option, inside the car at the top of the back window. Its 6 m cable runs along the headliner to the front.
Does it have GPS?
Only with the Front + Rear + GPS option. A small external GPS module records your speed, direction and position with the video, and you can follow your route on a map in the app or on a computer.
Will I be able to read number plates?
The front camera records in 4K, so in good conditions plates of the cars around you are readable. Distance, speed, heavy rain and direct glare all reduce detail, so no dash cam can promise every plate. The optional rear camera records in 1080p, so it shows less detail than the front.
Is a memory card included?
No. You need a Class 10 microSD card of 16 to 128 GB. Choose a high-endurance card made for constant recording: cheap, slow cards are the most common cause of dash cam problems.
Does it record when I'm parked?
Only with a hardwire kit (not included), which keeps it powered when the engine is off. It then offers two parking modes: time-lapse recording, or recording when an impact is detected. Pick a kit with a low-voltage cut-off so it can't drain your battery.
Will it fit my car?
Yes if your vehicle has a 12V socket: cars, SUVs and most vans. Don't connect it to a 24V supply (lorries, some large vans): it will damage the camera unless you add a 24V to 12V converter.
Why does my phone lose internet when I use the app?
Your phone connects to the camera's own Wi-Fi to download clips, so it can't use that connection for the internet at the same time. Disconnect once your clips are saved.
Is a dash cam legal in the UK?
Yes. It must not block your view of the road, so fit it behind the rear-view mirror, and don't handle it while driving.
Will my insurer and the police accept the footage?
Footage can help support your insurance claim or a police report. Each insurer and police force decides how they use it.
