Description & what's in the box

The Reflex straps over your existing rear-view mirror and turns it into a 9.66" touch screen dash cam. It records the road ahead in 4K through a Sony Starvis 2 sensor, every time you drive.

If something happens, the G-sensor locks the clip so it can't be recorded over. Replay it on the big screen at the roadside, then save it to your phone over Wi-Fi and send it to your insurer or the police.

In the box

  • Reflex 4K mirror dash cam
  • 12V car charger with 3.5 m cable
  • 2 straps to fit it over your mirror
  • USB card reader
  • User manual

Not included: a microSD card. Use a Class 10 card of 16 to 128 GB, ideally a high-endurance one made for constant recording.

01 · Front camera

4K, with a sensor built for low light.

The Reflex records the road in 4K (3840 × 2160) at 25 fps through a Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 sensor, a family of sensors made for driving at dusk and at night. Its 170° view takes in the lanes on either side.

  • 4K at 25 fps on the front camera
  • 170° wide angle covers junctions and side lanes
  • Sound recorded with the video

02 · Touch screen

Your mirror becomes the screen.

The Reflex straps over your existing mirror and gives you a 9.66" IPS touch screen. Aim the camera, change settings and replay a clip at the roadside with a tap, without reaching for your phone.

Nothing is stuck to the windscreen, so there's no mount to leave marks.

  • 9.66" touch screen where your mirror is
  • Two straps, no drilling

FAQ

Questions drivers ask before buying

Can't find your answer? Email support@dashproof.co.uk. A person replies within 24 working hours.

How does it fit?

It goes over your existing rear-view mirror and is held on with the two straps in the box. No drilling and nothing stuck to the windscreen. Then run the power cable to the 12V socket.

Does it have a rear camera?

No, this version records the road ahead only.

Will I be able to read number plates?

The front camera records in 4K through a Sony Starvis 2 sensor, so in good conditions plates of the cars around you are readable. Distance, speed, heavy rain and direct glare all reduce detail, so no dash cam can promise every plate.

Is a memory card included?

No. You need a Class 10 microSD card of 16 to 128 GB. Choose a high-endurance card made for constant recording: cheap, slow cards are the most common cause of dash cam problems. A USB card reader is in the box.

Does it record when I'm parked?

Only with a hardwire kit (not included), which keeps it powered when the engine is off. It then offers two parking modes: time-lapse recording, or recording when an impact is detected. Pick a kit with a low-voltage cut-off so it can't drain your battery.

Will it fit my car?

Yes if your vehicle has a 12V socket and a standard interior mirror: cars, SUVs and most vans. Don't connect it to a 24V supply (lorries, some large vans): it will damage the camera unless you add a 24V to 12V converter.

Why does my phone lose internet when I use the app?

Your phone connects to the camera's own Wi-Fi to download clips, so it can't use that connection for the internet at the same time. Disconnect once your clips are saved.

Is a dash cam legal in the UK?

Yes. It must not block your view of the road, and you shouldn't handle it while driving.

Will my insurer and the police accept the footage?

Footage can help support your insurance claim or a police report. Each insurer and police force decides how they use it.
