Sharp enough for the details that matter.
The Swift records the road in 4K (3840 × 2160) at 30 fps. A Sony Starvis sensor, a 6-layer lens with a bright f/1.6 aperture and HDR help it keep detail at night and when headlights or low sun hit the lens.

02 · Rear camera (option)
Front in 4K, rear in Full HD.
Choose Front + Rear and a 1080p rear camera records at the same time as the front, covering shunts and tailgaters behind you.
To be straight with you: the rear camera is 1080p, not 4K, so it shows less detail than the front.

Fast to your phone, easy to take with you.
5 GHz Wi-Fi sends clips to the free Framefox app faster than standard 2.4 GHz. The camera slides off its bracket when you want to take it with you, and the bracket rotates 110° to aim it.

Will I be able to read number plates?
That's what the 4K front camera is for. In good conditions, plates of the cars around you are readable. Distance, speed, heavy rain and direct glare all reduce detail, so no dash cam can promise every plate. The optional rear camera records in 1080p, so it shows less detail than the front.
Does it have a rear camera?
Only if you choose the Front + Rear option. You then get a 1080p rear camera that records at the same time as the front. The Front version films the road ahead only.
Is a memory card included?
Yes, a 32 GB microSD card comes with both versions. For longer recording time, it takes Class 10 cards up to 256 GB.
Why 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
It transfers clips to your phone faster than standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi: up to 4 times faster, according to the maker.
Can I take it out of the car?
Yes. The camera slides off its adhesive bracket without unsticking it, so you can take it with you when you park.
Does it record when I'm parked?
Only with a hardwire kit (not included), which keeps it powered when the engine is off. It then records when it detects an impact, or in time-lapse. Pick a kit with a low-voltage cut-off so it can't drain your battery.
Will it fit my car?
Yes if your vehicle has a 12V socket: cars, SUVs and most vans.
Why does my phone lose internet when I use the app?
Your phone connects to the camera's own Wi-Fi to download clips, so it can't use that connection for the internet at the same time. Disconnect once your clips are saved.
Is a dash cam legal in the UK?
Yes. It must not block your view of the road, so fit it behind the rear-view mirror, and don't handle it while driving.
Will my insurer and the police accept the footage?
Footage can help support your insurance claim or a police report. Each insurer and police force decides how they use it.
