Description & what's in the box
Some disputes happen on the road. Others happen inside the car. The Duo records both: Full HD 1080p of the road ahead and a 720p infrared view of the cabin, at the same time, every time you drive.
If something happens, the G-sensor locks the clip so it can't be recorded over. Check it on the built-in screen, then save it to your phone over Wi-Fi and send it to your insurer or the police.
In the box
- Duo dash cam (front and cabin cameras in one unit) with adhesive mount
- 12V car charger with power cable
- User manual
- With the 24h hardwire kit option: hardwire (step-down) cable for parking monitoring
Not included: a microSD card. Use a Class 10 card of up to 64 GB, ideally a high-endurance one made for constant recording.

Will it fit my car?
- Yes for cars, SUVs and most vans with a 12V socket.
- Not for 24V vehicles (lorries, some large vans) unless you add a 24V to 12V converter.
- Both cameras are in one unit behind your rear-view mirror, so there's no cable to run to the back of the car.

01 · Front camera
See the road the way it happened.
The front camera records 1080p at 30 fps through a 170° lens, so the lanes on either side stay in shot when someone cuts in or pulls out.
To be straight with you: this is Full HD, not 4K. It clearly shows what happened, but reading a number plate from a distance isn’t guaranteed.
- 1080p at 30 fps, smooth Full HD video
- 170° wide angle covers junctions and side lanes
- Sound recorded with the video
02 · Cabin camera
A witness inside the car, too.
The second lens faces the cabin and records in 720p at the same time as the front. Infrared lights let it see the driver and passengers after dark, and the lens rotates so you can aim it where you need it.
Useful if you carry passengers for work, or simply want a record of what was said and done inside the car.
- Front and cabin record together, every journey
- Infrared night view of the cabin
- Audio can be switched off when you want privacy

03 · Screen + app
Check the clip before anyone drives off.
The built-in screen lets you aim both cameras properly when you fit it, and replay a clip at the roadside. Then connect to the camera's Wi-Fi with the free app and save the footage to your phone, ready to send to your insurer.
- No cloud, no subscription: clips go straight to your phone
- One unit, no rear cable to run through the car
FAQ
Questions drivers ask before buying
Can't find your answer? Email support@dashproof.co.uk. A person replies within 24 working hours.
Does it have a rear camera?
No. The Duo records the road ahead and the inside of the car.
Will I be able to read number plates?
The front camera records in Full HD 1080p. It clearly shows what happened, and plates of cars close to you are usually readable in good light. Distance, speed, rain and glare all reduce detail, so no dash cam can promise every plate.
Can I record my passengers?
In your own car, for personal use, yes. If you drive for work (taxi, private hire, deliveries), check your licensing authority's rules and tell passengers they're being recorded, for example with a sticker. You can switch audio recording off.
Is a memory card included?
No. You need a Class 10 microSD card of up to 64 GB. Choose a high-endurance card made for constant recording: cheap, slow cards are the most common cause of dash cam problems.
Does it record when I'm parked?
Yes, with the 24h hardwire kit option. The kit's step-down cable connects the camera to your fuse box so it stays powered when the engine is off, and the parking monitor then starts recording when it detects a knock or vibration. We recommend having the kit fitted by a professional, such as an auto electrician or a dash cam fitting service. Parking mode uses a little power from your car battery, so keep that in mind if the car stands unused for long periods.
Will it fit my car?
Yes if your vehicle has a 12V socket: cars, SUVs and most vans. It isn't suitable for 24V vehicles such as lorries unless you add a 24V to 12V converter.
Why does my phone lose internet when I use the app?
Your phone connects to the camera's own Wi-Fi to download clips, so it can't use that connection for the internet at the same time. Disconnect once your clips are saved.
Is a dash cam legal in the UK?
Yes. It must not block your view of the road, so fit it behind the rear-view mirror, and don't handle it while driving.
Will my insurer and the police accept the footage?
Footage can help support your insurance claim or a police report. Each insurer and police force decides how they use it.
